Utd. Back on Track with Impressive Derby Win
Communities Utd U10-3 Ryleys Nomads U10-1
Communities Utd. under 10's team played local rivals Ryleys Nomads at the weekend and took all three points in a game which was closely fought. Utd had all the early pressure in the game with Ryleys getting the odd chance on goal.
Just before the break Ryleys received a penalty for a foul on the unstoppable Ben Bianchi inside the Utd. box by Joe Mooney. Bianchi stepped up to take the penalty and it was superbly saved by Man Of The Match for the second game running, Thomas Taylor. Taylor looked virtually unbeatable during the game and thoroughly deserved his Man Of The Match award.
The sides went out for the second third tied at 0-0. This third started end to end with both teams missing good chances but as the third went on it was Utd who managed to get control of the game and shortly after they took the lead with a great goal, from in form right winger Olliver Harrisson. Ryleys didn't let their heads go down though and they carried on battling but Utd now really had their minds set on winning and carried on pressing Ryleys back for the remainder of the third.
Just after the break Utd took another early goal, through that lad again Olliver Harrisson. He now has four goals to his name and is the clubs top goal scorer so far this season.
This game was now being played at a real pace with both Dean Musa and Joe Mooney really pushing hard. Mooney had by far his best game this season. He was tackling every player on the pitch and really showing the other lads how to pass in a game. Time and time again Mooney put Dean Musa through on goal and on another day, Musa would have scored a hat-trick!
With five minutes to go The Ryleys lads really gave it a go. They pushed on hard and were pulling Utd's shape around at the back. If Taylor had no made two fantastic saves from close range, this game was would have been heading for a togh end.
The Ryleys finally managed to break through and score to worry the home side but just after Ryleys scored, Joe Myres who replaced Harrisson came off the bench to grab a great strikers finish to seal all three points for Utd.
Utd now have a two week fixture gap and look to carry on their winning ways against Benchill Celtic.
