United Maintain Unbeaten Run!

Communities Utd. U10 5 - 0 Wythenshawe Town U10

Communities Utd. yet again brushed their opponents aside in what was a very one sided game on Saturday, at their home ground. Momentum is now building for them this season and it looks promising for Utd., when you analyse the current league table with Utd. sitting pretty at the top. This season’s additions finally look to be blending into the squad and looking at next season (9v9) the future looks bright. Matt Miller showed what he was capable of at times and gave the manager some food for thought for the coming games and Joe Myres looked a lot better than he has all season.

This game failed to live up to the previous game against Fletcher Moss but did get the players to stretch their legs a bit on what was a terrible home pitch. Three goals in the first third from Lawrence Taylor (2) and Joe Mooney were enough to send Utd. on their way to a comfortable win. The passing was crisp and the movement was good, particularly wide from Dean Musa and Oliver Harrison. The ball was being switched side to side and some great crosses were coming in from Dean Musa’s trusty left foot. For this game Oliver Harrison struggled at the start but once again when he came back on, he assured all the spectators what he was capable of.

The second third saw Matthew Millar come on. This was to be his best game yet for Utd. as he made some crucial tackles and was often accused of being too aggressive by the referee. This was pleasing on the eye of the manager as it was exactly what he wanted to see from a player who has seemed to lack effort so far. Joe Myres was now on and immediately looked to settle himself with a goal. He made chances out of nothing and some of his passing was immense. Myres still has a lot to work on but looks to be going in the right direction after grabbing himself a real striker’s goal, jabbing it through the helpless keeper’s legs.

The final third was pretty much the same but Utd. lost their balance for a while with the changes made by the manager. Wythenshawe were having a bit more possession and started to look dangerous, so manager Allan Watson made a few changes wide to give some much needed balance back to the side. This looked to work for Utd. and quickly they finished the game off with a great switch in play form Dean Musa and a nice finish from Oliver Harrison.

Man Of The Match: Matthew Millar
Goal Scorers: Lawrence Taylor (2), Joe Mooney, Joe Myres, Oliver Harrison.
